Android TV's - what about the screen resolution?

Could not find the right place for this so I hope it is good to start here...

As everyone is demanding 4K for Kodi and such I finally upgraded my TV to a model with 4K and HDR.
the boxes work as expected on it but my real problem is with the Android system on the TV itself.
Mine is a TCL 60" model from the P20 series, so basically same internals as the Sony models in terms of hardware.
When I installed Kodi I realised the screen resolution is only 1080P but not 4K as expected.
Aida64 confirms this and so far I ave not found a way to change the screen resolution.
Funny thing is that, when I went back to the shops, I checked other 4K TV's and none has more than 1080 for the Android stuff.
All HDMI stuff works on 4K though...

Is the Android system limited to half the resolution due to the low end capabilities of the Mali GPU or are there other resons for this?

hello to all user

need a little support to back tothe life my old tvbox



motherboar is a netxeon
amlogic
model:s82

problem:

usb bruning not reconnized , no flash any rom, no error
windows 7 is ok to reconized tv box to wolrdice cup , is ok

try to short pin 28-29 , plug usb port to pc , and not recognized


led blinking , red and blue

make a sdcard bottable and not working ....

I bought a few days ago a tv box abox A1 max 7.1.2 2g/16gb , when i upgrade supersu binary from google playstore, after I reboot, tv box is block to startup image, so i write in this forum because i would ask you if i flash firmware A95x in my tv box Can I brick tv box? What firmware A95x can I flash? In the left top corner recovery I see Amlogic chipset A95x_R2 ABOX I-MAX.

GT1 Ultimate bricked

Hey there,

so I never bricked anything but there's a first time for everything i guess. So i forgot to uncheck "Erase Bootloader" while flashing Supercelerons roms and after that it was dead.

Tried the pin shorting method. Nothing. SD Card method. Nothing.

Is there anything else that i could try?

unable to upgrade

I am new to the area and i am the owner of a beelink mini MXIII II (with amlogic) and it is the version 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. It runs android 5.1.1. Since it is so old, i am looking for a way to upgrade it. i have found the MINI MXIII-II_113M0.img that it is supposed to be for my device. I did install the USB burning tool (setup_v2.1.2), started the software with the image loaded and i did plug in the usb to WIN 7 pc and the other end to the beelink. a pop started that it searches for the drivers but it cannot find them and as a consequence the update cannot start.
could someone give a hint on how to start the upgrade, please? unless there is another method to do the upgrade. i am looking to go at least to android 6, without any bloatware or adware.

Hi,

i am new here due to the buy of a VORKE Z6 last week.

My "old" MediaPlayer is a Rapspi with OSMC
everything worked well but i hat problem with the amazon prime video and google music

Ok now my Problems:
I cannot figure out a always on configuration of the z6 with just the screen switches completly of (Pc screen)

and the other problem is that i like to use google cast ..

I have previously had a few of these boxes ranging from Android v5 through v6.0.1. Being generally satisfied with the product, I recently bought two more of these boxes which should have arrived with Android 6.0.1. As it turned out, they were flashed with a very bad version of 7.1.2.

What is working:
  • Wifi 2.4
  • Bluetooth devices seem to connect
  • IR remote that arrived with the box
  • USB mouse
What is NOT working:
  • HDMI Resolution is 720p, even though the MBOX launcher settings state that the box is running at 1080p. I tried switching between different resolutions without any effect.
  • MX3 remote: only the air mouse works, none of the buttons, nor the keyboard work
  • USB keyboard not working
  • Bluetooth keyboard connects but typing has no effect
Other firmware issues:
  • SuperSU: At first boot, you will receive a notification: “The SU binary needs to be updated”. If you try to update the binary the box will get soft-bricked.
  • AMLogic firmware and USB Burning Tool: I tried so many different firmware images without luck. This one is “"working"” (v7.1.2 20171025): https://mega.nz/#!6N4TwKAI!7Gt28mgv5...NgJ2i2a813ja5U. It flashes the box, but has all the issues mentioned in this post. I did not manage to find a working 6.0.1 image to downgrade with.
  • TWRP: Magendanz’s twrp.p21x-3.1.1-0.img, posted at “TWRP for Amlogic devices” at 07-26-2017 17:58, works well – both Backup and Restore work. I was lucky that I had two of these boxes, so that I could use TWRP to backup and flash the one that got soft-bricked after the SuperSU lock-up.   • LibreELEC: I did not manage to find a working device tree (dtb.img file) so I never managed to boot LibreELEC off the flash card.
  • Display resolution, keyboard / MX3 remote and LibreELEC are deal-breakers for me so I did not bother testing any other potentially broken features.
Request:
I do not have any experience with firmware development, but I am willing to try to unpack, modify and repack the provided firmware to make it function properly. All the help I can get, regarding the firmware and generating/extracting the device tree, would be deeply appreciated.
I would also be more than happy if anyone could provide a generic version of p212 TWRP firmware backup with all the above issues being fixed.

MXQ Pro+ S905x 2g/16g.....Launcher in lock down mode.

As the title says i can NOT run ANY launcher other than the built in one.....they can install BUT force close immediately....I've tried maybe 15 launchers both phone and tv launchers......i also have NO option to change wall papers etc......seems like many android settings are missing.
Any ideas
p.s. I've updated to latest firmware and this box WONT flash anything BUT stock firmware.

Hi,
i have the Nexbox A95X-B7N with amlogic s905x cpu and 1gb of ram and 8gb of rom.
i have already download the original IMG for recovery original firmware and android 6.0.1 (installed for default in this model).

but i have a problem:
I customize original IMG with "Customization Tool v2.0.8" in the level 2 of tmp folder i delete some pre-app like as facebook, twitter, youtube and i build new IMG
Then i flash this IMG to my box whit "USB Burning Tool v2.0.5.15" and the operation complete successful, but when i power on the box after the boot the system crash and show me prompt screen.

If i try to flash with original IMG the box restart very well and start with all functions.

Why? The Customization Tool is not just version?

The heat sink is the bigger version.
