Hello,

I lost it a bit, cannot find the last firmware for my MXIII - 2GB version TV-Box. Current i have loaded Build number: 114K4, Android version 4.4.2. Kernel versian: 3.10.33 Oman@ubuntu#1.
Furthermore the model is K200 and manufacturer MBX. Anyone who can point me to the right direction? With the current ROM i have a terrible metal sound from Kodi when connected to my Harman Kardon sound system (SPDIF connection). Hope it will be fixed when i upgrade. Also a link to a well working custom Rom will be most welcome. Thanks a lot!

Is my Telos brick?

Watching a movie, then the box freeze I needed to unplug the power. Plug it in, now I got dark screen via hdmi. This is not hdmi cable since I have tried many different one to make sure it has nothing to do with the cable.
Is there any button on the box or any trick that I can hard reset?
Or trying usb tool to flash firmware is the last resource? Need to dig up for the usb male to male cable.
Thanks,

Bricked my MXIII

Hi,

I just spend several hours trying to unbrick my good old MXIII 1 GB Beelink player. During normal firmware upgrade operations (not from usb tool or SD card) from android menu something went wrong and flashing just stopped. Then I turn it off and on again but this time only blue light appears on device itself but nothing on screen. So I decided to perfom SD card recovery and USB burning tool recovey but without luck. Computer does not wanna detect MXIII (i use different otg cables) i preses and depressed reset button behind AV slot milion times just nothing. Also I tryed recovery with SD card method, different formats, different firmwares just nothing. Is there anything else I can try to do.

Device is:
MXIII s802 1gb with realtek wifi
M82_v2.0
Netxeon

I use this file for recovery M82_108k4_sdcard.zip (extracted on fat32 formated card). I folowed all to me known instructions but no luck.

To connect device to PC u use mobile phone usb cable.

Anyone can help ?

Porting my Finless 1.0 ROM to the S95 Pro - Test ROM ready!

OK with the experience I got from porting my Finless 1.0 ROM for the Telos to the Meta and having success......
Now we try the S95 Pro.

This is a BETA test ROM!

After testing I will try to fix anything that isn't working and make a final ROM.

Note this TEST ROM is not rooted! The final will be rooted!
The boot screen says Meta not Pro and I will fix that in final ROM too. Do not be worried it says Meta!

Also you must flash this ROM with the USB burning tool.

Please test:
Wifi
Ethernet
Bluetooth
Memory

Here is the link for you to test.

ROM -> S95 Pro - Finless ROM 1.0 Port Beta 1 (280 MB)

NEW - Finless 1.0 ROM for S95 Meta - Final!

OK the BETA test ROM is over for porting my Finless 1.0 Telos ROM to the S95 Meta.
Thanks to those that tested it!

This is the same 1.0 ROM as the Telos. But what is different in this vs the BETA test ROM for the Meta is:
-Root out of the box
-Fixed some permissions I missed in the BETA ROM.
-Fixed init.d support as it was not working.
-Fixed the logo's, build.prop settings for the Meta

Finally!
I think I fixed the boot lock ups! I have not had one now in a while!

It appears to be the FOTA APKs that Tronsmart implemented!!!! They are forcing a OTA check and as you know when there is a new OTA it forces you to install it. It does not give you a choice. It appears that sometimes on boot, the FOTA APP tries to access Wifi or Ethernet before the stacks are ready. This seems to cause a lock up.
So I removed those in my ROM since you cannot OTA from my ROM anyway...

So any donations would be nice especially if you like this ROM!

__________________________________________________ ____________

WARNING! In order to debloat and clean up this ROM I have to format /data partition and thus you will loose all your data!

You have been warned! Please backup your stuff.

This ROM is for the S95 Meta only!

This ROM is based off the S95 Meta 20160129 BETA ROM. I found this to be better and more stable kernel to work with.

Install instructions:

This is a pretty easy install but please make sure you do exactly what I list here.

1) Download this ROM (finless_1.0_S95_telos.zip). DO NOT unzip it!
2) Copy the zip to a SDcard. Make sure it is a good SDcard and not corrupt. If your not sure, format it FAT32.
3) Make sure you do NOT have a recovery.img on SDcard that you used for something else. This ZIP is properly signed for the Tronsmart recovery in the box now.
4) Go into APPs and run the Update&Backup APP.
5) On the right side under "Local Update", click the select button.
6) It should open a list of ZIP files on your SDcard. Select finless_1.0_S95_telos.zip.
7) Now click the update button.
8) The system will reboot into Recovery but will not show any menus.
Also PLEASE NOTE: The stock ROM 20160109 had a bug with the boot logo. So your screen will be black for a while. PLEASE wait for recovery to come up!
If you wait longer than about 1 full minute, then something else is wrong. You might have to reflash a stock ROM.
9) The green Android man will show up and update the ROM. Do not do anything until it is finished!
10) The system will reboot on it's own and boot the new ROM.

Please note, this ROM takes longer to boot the first time than the stock ROM. The reason is it has be Deodex'ed. See below.

Enjoy!

___________________________________

Change Log / Features:

1) I have completely debloated this ROM! For those that want to start clean... you have a base ROM to work with!
None- of the pre-install APPs are there either. This includes the custom VidON XBMC. You can install that yourself if you want it.

2) The ROM is Deodex'ed. I find that this makes the system faster.
First boot after flashing takes longer but after that... It is much faster at booting!
Watch how fast it boots up after reboots. Barely enough time to see the boot animation
Also having a deodex'ed ROM allows ROM tool APPS to be able to do things like theming etc.

3) The Google Play Store and Google Framework have been updated to the latest as of this writing.
When you boot and login to the Play Store, nothing will need to be updated.

4) I added back the AOSP Launcher! Now on first boot you have a choice.
Also now in settings you will see a "HOME" item in the menu. You can use this to change the default launcher

5) For the AOSP Launcher I added some nice shortcut buttons at the bottom. One that is nice is a quick access to the Advanced Settings menu

6) Opened up some settings that were blocked for some reason.

7) I fixed the SDcard write and access issues! Not just for Media either but anything!
I tested this as much as I could so let me know.

8) Did some small tweaking to buffers so you may see better Wifi performance.

9) This ROM is rooted fully and properly! If you want it unrooted, use my EZ Unroot ZIP.

10) Fixed the problem of background APPs closing.

11) I eliminated the top Notification Bar! This is a TV box and it was annoying!
However, you can still pull down notifications using the mouse! So it's still there just hidden.
Not many APPs call the "Emersion Mode" so if they do not the notification bar stays. Annoying!
This was true even with the Mbox launcher. Example, open and APP and the notification Bar pops down.
If you do not like this, let me know and I can provide a ZIP to put it back.

12) Added init.d script support as I do in all my ROMs.

13) I added Xbox and Game controller KO modules. These should no be supported but I did not test it as I do not have a Xbox controller.
My game controller I have works.

14) Did some theming like wallpaper, boot logo, etc... Hope you like it.

15) Some other tweaks here and there I cannot remember them all... Nothing that big just some clean up and tweaks.

16) This will break OTA updates from Tronsmart! It has to be this way. An OTA update from them will take away much of what I have done.
Also I do not like the way Tronsmart implemented OTA. They force the update on you instead of letting you decide. I do not like that at all.

17) Finally......
Please let me know if you have any boot up lock ups. Symptoms are mouse and keyboard appear not to work.

I hope you enjoy this ROM.... Next release I may:
Add TWRP recovery
Try to fix SATA reboot and sleep issues.
Other stuff you all report as a problem.

The folks at Eurocom have released another monster 'mobile workstation

This time around the company's released the Sky X9W complete with a quad-core, eight-thread, Intel Core i7 6700K capable of operating at 4.2GHz and nestled amidst an Intel Z170 Express (Skylake) chipset. The NVIDIA Quadro M5000M dwarfs the CPU for core count: it's got 1,536 of its own.

Hi guys
I think I have bricked my one week ago purchased device. Screen stucks to Chinese logo and does not boot up.
That happenned after accidental stock UI freeze. I am only able to get into DNX mode.
I tried to fix using Manufacturing Flash Tool to reflash stock ROM, but flashing process stops at 5% and I get the message "IFW flash failed". I would appreciate your advice.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

On android I have a problem that I do not understand and resolve the least:

On one of my TV (KDL-40EX600 SONY) when I plug in a box CX919 Android 4.4.2 on a HDMI port, it works without any problems.
If I plug Tronsmart META or TELOS (I have both) on the same HDMI port on the TV, after a few minutes the picture is completely washed out or too saturated.
I made all the settings that I know but nothing changes. (Cable change, lower the resolution, change the TV HDMI port, change the HDMI settings of the TV .....)
I deduced that the HDMI output Tronsmart is too "powerful" and the HDMI port on the TV has trouble digesting it.
Does anyone have any idea to solve this problem?
Thank you

For information: both Telos and Metal Machines are root. I installed on both machines the Rom Finless

Unbrick'd M8S after OpenElec, now what?

My Box: Eny OTT M8 K200
PCB: M8 V8_1 201501418

The purpose for this post is as follows: (so read/ignore as appropriate)
1. Proper method to identify Box specs
2. Why it didn't go into recovery mode
3. Give kudos to this forum for Unbrick'ing my box
4. Proper method to be prepared for brick condition in future
5. Feedback on OpenElec and other boxes

1. Per Method to Identify Box Specs
What is the proper method to identify exactly what I have? It appears to have different assembled parts.
- Box case is Eny OTT M8
- Settings in ADB GUI says: K200, Android 4.4.2, ubuntu@google-server#1 3.10.33, build KOT49H20150623 test-keys
- Board has M8 V8_1 201501418
- When it boots, CPU says M9 and other details
- LED portion of board (which obv doesn't matter) has different stamp
- Check CPU or memory chip on board?
- If I have M8S, what is M8S vs M8s+?

2. Why No Recovery Mode?

After I unbrick'd my box with m8s_ap6330_8g2g_150818_USB升级.rar (Details at bottom of this post),
- I made a SDcard with some firmware of my choice
- Plugged in HDMI, and nice to haves (wireless keyboard, Ethernet), and started the box with toothpick method.

This did not go into recovery mode rather just booted into ADB GUI. Why? It doesn't really matter because the box booted up and if I want to apply an update now I can just go into the ADB GUI Update&Backup program, but it would be good to understand.

3. Give Kudos to this Forum

Kudos to JustMe, perpetual, Ploggy, hipisxbit, etc. I mostly used these to get to the solution: (details of unbrick at bottom of this post):

4. Proper Recovery Preparedness

What are the detailed steps of the proper method to proactively prepare for recovering your system due to flashing bad ROM or other? I guess this would be some ongoing method of grabbing last known firmware, etc. and making backup. Going back to an OEM firmware like I did should be the last resort.

5. OpenElec, Firmware, Other Boxes

I would have already had OpenElec installed if the recovery step mentioned in #2 above had worked but now I am questioning my approach. In my house we mainly only use Kodi (and some Hulu which can be ignored here). I have had a Nexus Player 5, Nvidia Shield, WDTV. From what I have read, it appears OpenElec will be a better Kodi experience in terms of buffering, etc.

This is an example of a pretty scientific approach for choosing a box aka focusing on performance:
http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/04/...tv-box-review/

- Any favorites out there?
- On best boxes?
- Going to OpenElec?
- Going to WeTek since OpenElec is native?
- Going to CuBoxTV
- Best Amlogic boxes?
- Or best boxes that support OpenElec?

Which OpenElec builds?
From http://amlinux.ru
JustMe's: http://justmeroms.com/

For Firmware updates, is this the main source? It seems difficult to match up these coddled together boxes from all sorts of 3rd parties to the proper Firmware? So why take the risk unless you are having an issue that the firmware fixes?
http://chinagadgetsreviews.blogspot....0&by-date=true

My Unbrick Details:

I brick'd my box installing OpenElec from the OpenElec Amglogic builds (because for the board 'M8 V8_1 201501418' I learned from this forum it is the wrong ROM).
http://tinyurl.com/amlogic-oe
There was no indication that power was reaching the board at all.

After many iterations and failed Firmware imgs and error messages in USB Burning tool, these were the steps:
- At windows boot menu press F8 and Disabled Signature Verification for Drivers
- USB burning tool and World Cup drivers need libusb-win32-bin-1.2.1.0 but 1.2.6 is already part of Windows 7 so can ignore unless on Windows 8+
- Downloaded and install USB Burning tool, version setup_v2.0.4.3.
- The libusb-win32 World Cup drivers are needed which is part of the USB Burning tool install however I downloaded Windows 7 - World Cup Drivers.zip here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/s8...up+Drivers.zip
- This is just for FYI but at the USB Burning tool install step it will launch setup for World Cup drivers, I initially canceled out of that setup.
- Holding the reset button (the toothpick method), aka press and hold the audio/video insert, connected USBA to USBA from the Box to the Win7 PC.
- The Box was immediately recognized by Windows (let go of audio/video reset button) and Windows tried to install drivers automatically and failed (which is fine).
- WithOut World Cup drivers it shows up as 'M8-Chip' device in Windows Device Manager Once the device shows up as 'M8-CHIP' in Windows Device manager, right mouse click 'Update Driver Software', choose to specify the location yourself and point to the folder where you extracted World Cup Drivers
- Unplug USBA to USBA
- Reboot PC
- With World Cup drivers it shows up as 'World Cup' device in Windows Device Manager
- Downloaded m8s_ap6330_8g2g_150818_USB.rar, started USB Burning tool with that img imported, and then the toothpick method and USBA-to-USBA
- Firmware update still failed in USB tool ([0x10302001]Romcode/Switch status/Check connect/Enum device...)
- I applied Power Adapter and then Firmware update succeeds

I didn't short any pins, which seems to mostly be for using a different boot sequence such as booting off SDcard, setting up and booting off OTG. This is only for when you can't use USB Burning tool.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums...In a HUGE bind hoping you all can give some insight..I won a Jiake M8 KitKat 4.4.2 from Ebay..The seller was honest saying It has a pin-code lock on the device and he had no idea what the code is...I'm thinking with a little tinkering I could bypass it,so far I haven't been able to..I have factory reset the device,it still ask for the code. After booting from recovery, I have to be quick and swipe the notification screen down and hit the gear icon, and get into settings(only have a few seconds before the pin code screen appears) I also manage to factory rest from inside the phone, still a no go..I check device administrators and nothing is checked...I have searched all over the net trying to see how to get around this..Any ideas would be great,thanks....
