On settings - sound - I get the message Do not disturb is on ( Alarms Only) turn off.
When I go into Do Not Disturb - Priority only allows - I find that "Alarms" is grayed out, is permanently in the on position - I can't turn this off.
I have tried numerous Factory resets , but nothing changes.
Have I got a corrupted system - if so any ideas as to how I can restore. You don't have a download of firmware I can try by any chance.
Any advice welcome.

Hello All,
I just got my box today it's a 3/64GB labeled as EstGoSZ with Android 7.1.2 - It's has a blue board inside with a sticker that reads: CZ 3G+64G+9377 JOB 20171103
On the other side of the board it has the following written: S32-V6(LPDDR3) 2017-09-05
I am new to Android TV Boxes so please all the info and details you can provide me would be greatly appreciated
Click image for larger version Name:	s-l1600.jpg Views:	1 Size:	37.0 KB ID:	741244

The problem I have is that it makes some crackling noise. I read here that all 7.1.2 have that problem:
http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...-a-weird-sound

1- What is the latest stock firmware that I can update to in order to solve this? (Without introducing new bugs). And how?

2- I noticed there are ROMs here https://mega.nz/#F!8qhRRaYJ!2ZA3VLjv...TF27g!prxFnCRA that have XGO in their names and others don't, what's the difference?
I think the ROM on my box now is from 01-2018. I can double check if you want.

3- What would be better? Stock ROM or one from SuperCeleron? What are the benefits or disadvantages of each? I don't want to lose any functionality such as WiFi or Bluetooth or the stock remote.
Any recommendations?

4- Is it possible to make the box run cooler without having to mod and install fans? I kinda like the minimalist and simple look it has.

Thank you kindly and sorry for the long post.

OTA TV on your MiniPC with the Official Microsoft Xbox One Digital Tuner

When Microsoft first introduced the Xbox One Digital Tuner it was quite expensive and sales have apparently fallen to such low levels that they are now being sold off (at least in the UK) for next to nothing prices, as low as £2, although typically around the £5 mark.

Unfortunately, Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom decided not to create any Windows 10 drivers, so this route is not an option.

With recent kernel updates though, it will apparently run under Linux and most definitely under Libreelec.

I purchased one this week and using the Millhouse Libreelec builds using Kodi 18, it works extremely well. https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=298462&page=280

The official Libreelec based on Kodi 17.6 should also work too.

You will need to follow one of the Wiki guides but if you go down the TvHeadend route then you should get all SD and HD channels.

Libreelec can of course be installed directly to the eMMC/SSD internal storage or, if your device supports it, from a bootable flash drive.

Recording also works extremely well.

It is only a single tuner, so you can't watch one channel whilst recording another but you can plug in 2 of the tuners where TvHeadend is reported to automatically split the muxes so that you can have seamless watching of one, whilst recording another, although you may need an additional aerial splitter if you have only one access point.

A cheap as chips solution to expand the capabilities of your X86 based device.

Although we have DVB-T/T2 here, I'd guess that it would also work with ATSC variants of the tuner.

I'm told that it can also work using Libreelec on Amlogic S905x/S912 boxes, which is next up on my list to try.

Help - Bricked Yundoo Y8

Hello

I am a happy yundoo y8 user. The android 7.1 is working quite well for me... but... I wanted to try linux and I think I have bricked the Y8.

What I did? I got the linux image for an almost identical RK3399 device ( https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:Yundoo-Y8 ) and I flashed it with the command: upgrade_tool uf linux_image.img

After this, at power on with the red light is not switching to blue nor it boots. Recovery mode (the button hidden inside the audio jack) is not working: the device is not detected in the USB with rkflashkit (before flashing it was appearing).

So, I installed an TTY serial cable to this points:

and I got this log:

Searching the net (topic: Unhandled Exception in EL3) I found another person having same issue as my Y8 which he resolved by resetting the device short-circuiting what he called testpoints. I believe that these testpoints are the MASKROM points that shortcircuit emmc clock. But I am not sure. He says:

Code:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:SWO0NRo6sNMJ:bbs.t-firefly.com/forum.php%3Fmod%3Dviewthread%26tid%3D1980+&cd=3&hl=es&ct=clnk&gl=es&client=ubuntu

"With the console cable in place, I was able to determine that "mask rom" was not being entered. I used a piece of wire to short the test points and reset the device until it appeared over USB. At this point I was able to erase and re-flash it with the Ubuntu image.

For anyone else that experiences this, the tip is to make sure you have good contact on the test points. Also, its much easier to press the reset button while shorting the pins than it is to plug/un-plug the power connector."

I think that in the Yundoo Y8 board, these MASKROM or test points are these:

So, I shortcircuited the points GND and the other copper point in the image beside the 22ohm label (the one below the resistor) and the emmc seems to be not accessible. Also, some kind of reset seems to happen, but when I release the points, the Unhandled Exception in EL3 hits again.

This is the log in the TTY terminal while shortcircuiting the points:

Does anybody knows how to solve this issue... or... is my Yundoo Y8 bricked forever?

OTA TV on your MiniPC with the Official Microsoft Xbox One Digital Tuner using Libreelec

$
0
0

Update: Works perfectly on Libreelec for S912 (I used 8.2.4.1)

Following on from my tests using the tuner with a Mini PC, http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-support/intel-based-tv-players/741375-ota-tv-on-your-minipc-with-the-official-microsoft-xbox-one-digital-tuner I wanted to see if it would work on my S912 box and it works perfectly.

It can seem fiddly to setup so I thought I'd jot down some generic instructions for anybody that is interested.

This little guide assumes that you have already installed Libreelec (8.2.4.1 in my case) to either bootable media of the internal nand and thatb of course, you have the tuner connected to a USB port at one end and your antenna at the other.

Configure all your usual Librelec/Kodi settings.

Go to Addons, Download, PVR Clients, select TvHeadend HTSP Client and install.

Configure it with TvHeadend Hostname or IP address changing the default 127.0.0.1 to libreelec.local (need to restart message will appear, click OK).

Whilst still in addons, go to Install from repository, select Libreelec addons, Program addons, TvHeadend Setup for Kodi and install (it is not absolutely necessary to install this but it may come in handy for troubleshooting later on).

Back to addons and select, Install from repository, Libreelec addons, Services,
TvHeadend Server 4.2 and install.

Wait for connection message.

Go to PVR & Live TV.

Turn on Synchonise channel groups with backend(s).

Turn on Use channel numbers from backend.

Click clear data and confirm.

Adjust other settings as required.

Now switch to your PC and fire up your browser.

Enter libreelec.local:9981 as the URL and this should take you to the TvHeadend config screen.

Follow the Wizard, selecting language, tuner etc.

When choosing your mux location (the location of your local TV broadcast mast) a channel scan will start.

When finished, reboot. You don't have to but you may have issues with the PVR manager loading up if you don't.

Upon starting, you should see the PVR manager start and populate the TV channel listing and EPG guide.

When watching a channel, if you click the record button and it starts and immediately stops then it is likely that the recordings folder that should be located under ./storage does not exist.

To correct this, SSH into Libreelec using WinSCP or similar and create the directory recordings in storage.

Login name is root and password is libreelec (you just need the IP address of the box from System Information) and connection is easy.

One unexpected bonus that I found was that if you load up the TvHeadend config on your PC browser, if you double click on a channel, then an .M3U is downloded from which you can launch and play the program from any PC or device that supports .M3U playback. If a channel is already being watched then you cannot choose another but it does mean that multiple people can theoretically watch the same stream from different locations in your home.

Adding a second tuner, if you have enough spare USB ports would allow both recording of one channel whilst watching another and should also allow 2 streams to be watched from different locations.

Remote turn on not working

When I turn off the device (sleep), it can be switched on within few minutes. After some time, TV box is not responding to the remote and I have to plug off and in the power sourcee to make it running/awake. The same is when I change setting not to sleep, but to turn off. Any solutions?
I have ZH01-S912-TVBOX-v3.0 stock, tried factory reset.

Also, air mouse stopped working. It's working on PC, but not on TV box. Pendrive is working, so USB is fine. The box are getting quite hot sometimes, 54-83C.
