Q Plus S912 -- how to open up the box?

Hi all,

I am going nuts trying to open up this box. It runs hot and i want to add some holes. But while i try to pry it open along the edges at the top, nothing unsnaps and i cant find any screws. So please, if anyone know how to open this up, please give a tip. Picture of unit is below. Thanks

Been noticing this time to time. BBC America live channel and others have been blocking playback during some programs. Provider won't allow Smart TV or Android app on TV box durring playback, forcing cable box or provider app to be used only

Can I flash a new rom to it?

The mix between mouse and remote d-pad type navigation is really annoying. I have an air mouse but I believe this is just not a very good rom that it shipped with.

X7 - ZIDOO support is dead... Anything I can flash to give life to this box again??

Hi guys,

ZIDOO confirmed to me in a Facebook message that official support for the X7 is effectively dead. Sad face.

What I want to know is has anyone successfully flashed a different ROM or a version of LibreELEC that works on this box? I'm looking for something that will play 10bit 4k HEVC HDR files.

Nexbox A95X S905X (New Model) Dead

I recently got hold of a Nexbox A95X S905X (New Model). Everything worked perfectly until i tried to get it google certified.
On a forum i read you need to lock the boot loader in order to do that.

So SuperSU loaded and locked. After that it crashed.

Since then i tried each and every firmware i could find(About 6 diffrant sites including Friz's Nexbox File Repository) to load on, but it would not boot. Only Shows Nexbox and the red A95X underneath it.
Most of the time it could not get to recovery via AV port switch. Sometimes the android recovery loaded)

I tried both the USB update and SD update methods. It came with Android 7.1.1. I could not load that nor Android 5 or 6.

I even tried TWRP and created a backup of another one i have. I could not restore it as it crashed everytime withing 2-10% of restoring system.(I changed folder name to match new box in order to detect backup).

The last try was on Android 6 SD Method. It succeeded, but after reboot i got the red light of death. Before that it always had the blue light.

I have a samsung EMMC chip.

I tried JTag method, but could not get it to detect the device in USB update, nor am i actually sure that Ctrl + C stopped any booting as described in the post on how to do it.

Any suggestions? My box is dead now.

GT1 Ultimate Bricked?!

Hi,
I think I bricked my GT Ultimate after flashing this: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...ndroid-tv-ddr4

I downloaded the Image, connected to the box and everything went fine. I disabled the erase bootloader as mentioned in the thread and all finished well.

Now the problem:
Plugged it in into the TV, only white LED, and no media display.
Tried to reflash, but now I can not connect the box to the PC anymore.

Any ideas how I can fix this? It the box lost, or not?

Scishon V88 Mini Google Play Service problem with reboot

Hi guys,

I have a V88 Mini Box which run really really stable with the Android 6 update and FMTC. Unfortunately since a few days the device hangs with diffrent errors. Some apps were killed and when something with "Androdid.xxx.acore" or "Google Play Service" get killed the device reboots and hangs at the ANDORID-BOOT-LOGO. When I unplug and plug the power supply agin it starts into Android 6, but even if you do nothing after a few minutes you get the error messages about closing programs. When google playstore closes the device reboots suddenly.

- I tried already to delete some apps and now I have about 1,5 GB free space again, but it didn't really help. It helped to unplug Ethernet, Wifi and erase some apps for around 12h. Then suddenly after a youtube-app-update the device run for anthoer 10 minutes and then stopped again with an information about some stopped process and rebooted.

There is about 1,5 GB free space on the device now.

1. Are there any advices or is suddenly the device flash easily damaged however?
2. Had anyone else the same issues and does the device also die fast even when it's just turned on in the background without doing anything? I have installed already some tricky apps and won't reset it to default if there are any other ideas.
3.Does anyone also have a new Firmware for this device?

Help Mx9 wired internet problem!

Good morning, first disclose my English I'm using google translator: / ...

I have a box MX9, model of the card R329Q_V3.0 2017.09.12, and I installed the rom of Kingbox android 6.0.1 however the wired internet does not work, at first I thought it would be problem on the network card, but searching for other rom's I found a which works the internet wired but rom is modified and very slow, the rom of Kingbox and Leelbox are quite fast and works very well .. I also installed version 7.1.2 of the leelbox and kingbox, but the problem of the wired internet continues. The box does not get IP gets everything 0.0.0.0, does anyone else have this problem and managed to solve it? Does anyone have any solutions please? Thank you everyone's attention

Q BOX won't power on, can't even enter recovery.

Hey everyone, first timer hwre. Ive had tbis QBOX for awhile now. It has always worked wonderfully. Well, its been sitting behind my TV for a few months, unplugged and unused. I went to power it on and use it last night, and its stuck on the boot screen. It loads the boot intro with the golden "Q" and then just hangs there.
okay, theres obviously a problem, so i look it up, and learn I need to use the toothpick method to get it into recovery mode. And thats my huge problem. It wont boot into recovery. It will continuously flash the initial golden "Q" before the boot intro, but no recovery mode.
I have gotten it into recovery mode twice, both times it wont factory reset, says something about not being able to find /misc or something of the sort..
My question is, has anyone else had this problem with the QBOX?
Any finesse that comes with getting it into recovery mode? Any replies and help is greatly appreciated.

  • I am confused by kszaq red WARNING note under S805 generic TIPS & TRICKS re: remote.conf problems, which should apply equally to S905/912 builds too:




    [8.2.3.1] LibreELEC 8.0 for S805





    " WARNING

    Unless you have Android installed on internal, you might have remote.conf issues..."




    1. Does this (typo?) by any chance mean that with LE installtointernal, there should be no IR remote mismatch problems?




    That these problems arise only with dual boot SD install?




    *Below I refer to kszaq LE 805/905/905X 8.2.3.1 latest builds available.*




    2. How about the case with SD LE boot with internal data install?




    Would one still run into remote.conf problems?




    3. Is it enough to copy the Android /system/etc/remote.conf file to your SD card root containing your img and dtb files required to boot from SD card?




    I copied remote.conf from Android /system/etc to SD card root as above but without luck for my Yuntab MXV S805.




    My Nexbox A95X box with S905X Android 6.1 works fine including remote from SD card boot.




    The Yuntab MXV S805 Android 4.4.2 boots LE from SD; however none of the remote.conf files on kszaq 805 site work (I keep overwriting new trial files over existing ones in SD card root folder.)




    Strangely with the bottom side recovery button pressed and power cord then inserted, MXV box never entered recovery-just booted from Android 4.4.2 normally. But then I am able to boot LE from SD card anyway with the button pressed !




    ( The 3rd box, Richino S905 boots fine from Android 5.1.1, but the full SD card slot doesn't seem to do anything with various SD cards inserted.)




    Maybe I should try the #1,2,3 remote.conf files at mxqproject.com/files ?




    4. According to chewitt installtointernal is now deprecated... ( March 26, 2018 thread.)




    Does this mean kszaq 805/905 8.2.3.1 builds will continue having this feature, but newer builds won't?




    Is the installtointernal script part of autostart.sh ?




    5. As alternative, is it possible to take kszaq builds and use some program like TWRP to install to internal memory, and also backup/restore LE system and data and boot etc files?

Argh! I found a reason why I have app issues.

For some reason some apps won't have any permissions set when Installed. Not sure if It is the apk managers I use, or downloaded apps installed by Solid Explorer Pro, or something about Magisk 16.0. I had to set permissions over 60% of my installed apps. So, now now I will have to check each app after install to see if any permissions get set and make adjustments if needed. Hopefully it is not a device issue, so identifying what causes the condition, can be circumvented once the issue can found.
