I searched for a solution to the problem that freeze occurs and does not load the streaming (Cuevana2, Repelis, etc) in Chrome / Mozilla and others, I found a solution.
In my case, in Chrome and Mozilla FIREFOX.
What I did was: Settings / Applications / Chrome / Clear Cache / Clear data / Force stopped and then Open.

I notice that there is some sort of limitation when it comes to using an external HDD with an device running googles stock android TV ROM. Basically, you can only read from external storage but cannot copy to it.

However, of all the file manger apps I have tried the only one that allows me read and write to an external drive is ES File explorer. All others give me some sort of error message whenever I am trying to write to them (move stuff from internal storage to them).

I have also noticed an option within the OS to reformat a USB drive as internal storage which I am guessing would mean I don't have to worry about moving things to and fro anymore... but thats not what i want.

So what I am asking is if there is any ap that offers the same kinda functionality like ES File explorer that will allow me read and write to external drive, or is theer a way I can make other apps be able to do so.

Hi all

I'm looking to buy an Android TV box for my parents( both in their 80). Their TV is LG 1080P smart tv with old OS before webOS so I don't really care at this point for 4k 30 vs 60 fps. I was looking at Mecool Pro plus vs L vs W because of the pure android tv os. The tv box will be primarily used for sideloaded apk or chrome browser for eTVnet for Russian channels. I have Logitech K400 keyboard with Russian key sticker on it. The Russian language does work fine on the K400 keyboard with Smart TV OS.
I have heard that mecool has some overheating issues but I'm not sure if it's just mecool or 4k streaming. So the question is. Is this a still an issue with streaming 1080p content?
Does Android TV OS support other languages including language voice control? Is the voice controller really needed? I know for sure it is nice to have.
Are there any other boxes somebody would recommend?

Hi all! I’ve got a S905x box that I’m stuck with (MXQ Pro 4K - in Android settings it’s listed as an MXQ Pro II) so I’m trying to get the most of it. It’s sluggish as all get out (1gb/8gb), but I’ve found a new firmware I’d like to try that I’ve found on this site. The problem is, I can’t figure out how to flash it. The AV reset button doesn’t work - I push it in and power on the box, but it just keeps booting to the regular start screen. I tried with the USB burning tool, but since I flashed a different firmware to the box (pretty stock firmware from Chinagadgets), the box won’t get detected by Windows. I’ve read that these problems can maybe be caused by no root, so I tried rooting with a couple of apps, but they fail. Any suggestions of what to try? I checked with a multimeter and the button does appear to have continuity. Am I stuck with what I’ve got now?

Got my m8s pro L this week and have worked out most of the bugs by reading in the forums here.
One thing I can't seem to get sorted though is how the heck do I read the comments for a youtube video???
I am using youtube version 2.02.08 because the updated version keeps freezing.
I'm sure there must be a simple solution but I'm not seeing it.

I have recently upgraded my T8X Android Media Box running 5.1.1, since doing this I appear to have lost the ability to change my Ethernet connection from DHCP to Static. I need to do this to change my DNS settings. Ethernet connects perfectly as does WiFi. If I go to settings, more settings, I used to have a facility to modify Network connections, this has gone.
Any guidance as to how I can restore this please.

Just picked up a H96 max with RK3399 4/32gb box, it came with Android 7.1.2 and 20180620 firmware. (im under the impression that firmware is for the H96 max H2 with the 3328 chip) I'm having a lot of issues with it crashing and rebooting when using most apps. I Installed Aptoide since just about anything I load from GPlay crashes but im still having issues. I do have a 120mm fan sitting under the box.

Should I be using the 20180502 Firmware with this box? Curious is anyone else has had success running 20180620 Firmware with this box. Im looking to run Kodi, Netflix, Utube and some games with the box.

Any help would be appreciated, I have been lurking all over the site for about a week now and have learned a lot so thank you to all for doing what you do

This first rom will be a ported minix rom.I have another lollipop rom that i am trying to fix the screen resolution. it will come much later i only have a few hours a day to work on this and i don't even use my mxq lol.i willl upload the flash-able zip and a twrp backup so no one will be left out!!!
This would not even be possible with out abdual's work so thank him not me i just went one step further with his work we are only using his boot-loader image so props to him. He is smarter than i am!! This minix rom will work with 8723 wifi chip set but you will have to alter a file in twrp my mxq uses 8189 wifi wich will be the default. i will post complete instructions and cannot guarantee a upload time!
The flash-able zip will only have the 8723 wifi driver the twrp backup will have the 8189 wifi driver ( god i played hell finding this driver) and will have slightly different logo and boot animation. post 2 and three will have links

I've spent ages getting my Sunvell T95Z Plus working as an Android TV in an attempt to recreate the Sony Bravia Android TV interface that I have on my Livingroom TV.
It's mostly the way I want it now with all interface control possible via the TV's remote control. My biggest issue just now is that I can't get iPlayer to work without a mouse device, e.g. airmouse.

Amazon fire TV/Stick and the Sony TV both have really good interfaces that I want. Problem is Fire TV version won't port across,.... see link to sandog's work

And I've looked to try and fink the iPlayer apk on the Sony TV, i can adb into it but can't root the device easily and to scared that I brick the TV...

I've tried NVidia Shield version but not managed to get it to work yet and I think it needs the Shield controller to work anyway....

Anyone have any idea if the standard iPlayer apk can be modified or tricked into opening in Leanback mode? T95Z is set to spoof as SONY Bravia 2015 (copied lines from TV's Build.Prop)
