KERUO - L7 PICO PROJECTOR

Got my hands on a PICO Projector that is powered by Android 5.1.1 from Keuro in China. Works with MiraCast and Happy Cast. Comes loaded with a ROM that has some video options, but I am going to experiment on trying to root this thing and put TWRP on it so I can load a custom Rom for possibly Android TV. Here is the manual with tech specs - http://www.keruotv.com/r/cms/kr/defa...er%20guide.pdf
I have side loaded the following apps, Play Store, Netflix, Direct TV Now, Watch ESPN, CBS All Access, Prime Video, For Sports. The all run, but are kind of wonky as they want to work with touch not a IR Remote.

It has an ARM quad core A53 64 bit processor with 1 GB of DDR and 8Gb storage - was wanting to know if that if solid enough to run Lollipop or Marshmallow CUSTOM ROM if I root?

Thanks for any help or suggestions

Can anyone tell me if the "Power" button widget on Android TV launcher is separate apk or part of the OS? I'm running the latest version of Android TV Launcher and its missing. I found the apk to add App Drawer but the Power button is a mystery.

Help! Need original Android firmware for A95X A1. On Android 6 only has one core enabled at 1ghz max, box runs very hot and slow

hi there!
used these forums to unbrick and sort out a lot of tv box issues but this time i had to sign up because i can't sort this one out or find a solution

i got a A95X A1 nexbox clone, i assume its a clone because the originals firmwares don't flash, or i haven't found the right one

it's got 1g/8g with a S905X and a c9081c wifi chip, samsung nand, boards inside reads; A95X_V1_0

there's only 1 firmware that would flash with usb burn
(https://mega.nz/#!hggFAAiK!c2zPN_U9z...ZnmxTtiXQAkJ0A)

all others i tried fail at 2%, which means its not compatible from what i read here

the rom is rooted and i installed cpu-z and no frills cpu to change the governors
cpu-z always shows 3 cores as stopped the one running usually being at 100%
it makes the box very hot, slow and annoying to use, tried changing governors, rebooting ,etc
nothing helps, only 1 core is enabled running at 1gh max instead of the supported 1.5gz
everything seems fine in armbian and libreelec, 4 cores being used all the time

how can i fix this android? or where can i find a compatible rom to flash with usb burner?

i also tried flashing some roms with sd card method, it shows its upgrading but after an hour it's still there
on other roms it reboots after a while to then be stuck as a red light
the only thing to recover it then is to use the one core android stock rom again

hope you can help me..
thank you.

I recently bought the box from **** seller, no problem with the main use of the box. Just everytime I plug a powered USB HHD into the usb sockets, the system constantly restarts itself, never alloing to see the contents of the drive. Only stops when I unplug the drive. I have not found any support site for the Box manufacturers

This drive was fine on my old android box worked OK, I converted my dvd library and put them of this drive .

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem, and if there is a solution somewhere.

The H96 box cannot display content in 4K ???

Hi guys,
I am using the H96 box ddr4 version (3GB/32GB).
I have a samsung 4k tv. I tried to set the resolution of the box to 4k 60 fps and tried to display this image test with kodi
http://www.hifi-writer.com/download/4ktest.jpg

The box failed the test so H96 pro plus is unfortunatly not 4k. And to confirm this I also checked in the device settings in CPU-Z the result was 1920x1080.
Bottom line, the 4K resolution is just for signal not for content.

Hi, I've seen tools to dump specific portions of an image but I want to be able to create a full flashable IMG including the partition formatting etc. basically a 100% complete stock/factory image.

Not just ripping the individual partitions system.img, boot.img recovery.img etc etc.

Anyone have any tips ? Thanks.

Roku releases five new streaming devices and an OS update

$

0
The update closely follows revised offerings from competitors Apple and Amazon.

Roku refreshed its entire streaming device lineup today, updating devices with better processors and other improvements. The company is also rolling out Roku OS 8 to all of the new devices and many older ones. OS 8 adds search and voice control features and brings the over-the-air and over-the-top viewing and searching experiences closer together.

The new devices include the Roku Express, the Roku Express+, the Roku Streaming Stick, the Roku Streaming Stick+, and the Roku Extreme. All were extant products that have simply been refreshed. Gone are the Roku Premiere and Roku Premiere+, which sat in the middle of Roku's lineup last year. The Roku Streaming Stick+ effectively fills the gap.

The Roku Express and Express+ retail at $29.99 and $39.99. The former is still the same old device, but with a chipset that Roku says is five times faster than what we saw in 2016's model. The Roku Express+ offers composite cable connections for older TVs, in addition to HDMI. It is available at retail exclusively at Walmart.

The Roku Streaming Stick also gets the improved performance and adds support for 802.11ac dual-band MIMO wireless. The Stick comes with a voice-control remote, which can also be used to control the TV's volume, assuming the TV is compatible. It goes for $49.99. However, it's capped out at 1080p HD. To go to 4K or for HDR support, you have to pay $69.99 for the Roku Streaming Stick+. The Streaming Stick+ also comes with an improved wireless receiver that Roku claims offers four times the Wi-Fi range you'd get in the base Streaming Stick.

At the top end of the lineup is the Roku Ultra. Selling for $99.99, it can also stream 4K and HDR. Its remote has a headphone jack, and the device itself has a micro SD slot and USB for storage expansion. It also comes with an ethernet port, whereas the other devices are wireless only. Last year's model did not support Dolby Vision, and the announcement of the updated model unfortunately makes no mention of added Dolby Vision support.

Dolby Vision is one of two competing HDR formats. It provides superior image quality to the other format (HDR-10), but it is not as widely supported, in part due to hardware licensing fees. Some of the devices competing with the Roku Ultra do support Dolby Vision, including Google's Chromecast Ultra and the Apple TV 4K. The Amazon Fire TV, Xbox One S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 4 Pro only support HDR-10.
Streams everywhere

A lot has been happening in the OTT streaming device space lately; Apple announced a new, 4K version of its Apple TV hardware earlier this month, and Amazon updated its Fire TV streaming box last week. The content side of TV streaming has also been active. Apple is reportedly investing more than $1 billion in original content annually. Both Hulu and YouTube have launched cable-replacement services since the Roku devices were last updated, and some TV networks have launched or plan to launch their own streaming services. They include CBS, which premiered Star Trek: Discovery exclusively on CBS All Access last week. Meanwhile, Disney (parent to ABC) has said it will launch a new service in 2019.

Despite these movements, broadcast TV is still alive and well—many cable cord-cutters still watch over-the-air HD broadcasts from local network affiliates—so Roku has incorporated broadcast streams more cleanly into the Roku's user interface with its Smart Guide feature. With Roku OS 8, you can now also search for over-the-air shows with Roku's search function and use voice commands while watching that programming. Like Apple TV, Roku OS 8 includes a single sign-on for OTT apps from various channels that require authentication with a cable provider. This means, in theory, that you don't have to keep re-entering your cable provider's password for each new app. Not every app will support it, of course.

Roku's pricing and broadcast TV support place it downmarket from the Apple TV, but these devices' internals are likely not as fast, and none of them support Dolby Vision. Still, Apple TV made some choices—like a high price, lack of Dolby Atmos support, and unusual image processing decisions—that have left the door open for competitors like Roku and Amazon. Roku remains the most popular dedicated TV streaming hardware platform.

Roku announces its 2017 range of streaming players

Today, Roku announced its 2017 range of streaming devices, from its budget-friendly Roku Express to the premium Roku Ultra. The company also announced the latest version of the operating system that powers the devices, Roku OS 8.

"Our new streaming player line up provides performance, price and features to meet our users needs so they can sit back, relax and enjoy their TV viewing experience even more," said Chas Smith, General Manager of Roku TVs and players. "Consumers will love our new sleek Roku Streaming Stick+ with an innovative advanced wireless receiver that gives up to four times the wireless range and a remote that controls TV volume and power. It makes 4K and HDR streaming simple."
Roku Express
For the most budget-conscious of streamers, Roku is offering the Express and the Express+, which cost $29.99 and $39.99, respectively. The company says that they're five times as powerful as their predecessors, and the Express+ offers the choice between HDMI and composite A/V ports, although that model is exclusive to Walmart.

Next is the Roku Streaming Stick and the Streaming Stick+, which cost $49.99 and $69.99, respectively. The Streaming Stick offers a quad-core processor and 802.11ac dual-band MIMO Wi-Fi for HD streaming.

But if you're looking for 4K and HDR, the Streaming Stick+ is the option that you want, or at least as a starting point. It supports 4K at 60fps, and Roku says that the Wi-Fi range is four times what it was on its predecessor.
Roku Ultra
Finally, the Roku Ultra is the flagship of the bunch. It's in a box form factor, rather than a dongle, so it has a port for wired internet. Naturally, it supports 4K at 60fps and HDR. The device is priced at $99.99.

As for availability, all of the new streaming players can be pre-ordered beginning today and will be available on October 8. While the Express+ is exclusive to Walmart, the rest of the lineup can also be purchased from Best Buy, Amazon, and other retailers. If you buy one before October 31, you'll get a $10 Vudu credit which can be used toward a rental or purchase.

R-TV S10 large size 1080p videos file playback problem HELP.

Hi, I have R-TV S10 box currently on Supceleron ROM the one for Alfawise works on it very well. My problem is large size video files say bigger than 3 GB stutter and hangs a lot and mainly in hardware acceleration mode I tried various video players default video player, kodi, vlc, and many others. software acceleration mode did play the same video well but in a heavy action sequence it skips frames. same files working fine on my mobile but my mobile have snapdragon 820.

I thought it was stock firmware which is at fault as s912 is powerful engough so i tried superceleron's rom both normal and ATV version but hardware acceleration problem is same though in software mode it is much better than stock but still lags.

what could be the reason? does anybody else have the same problem?

TWRP not starting from SDCARD

Hi guys
I am openning second thread as I cannot find solution to my case anywhere. here, XDA or 4PDA.
I have 4K 3Gb DDR4 + 16 Flash with q9377. Android 7.1.1

I want to flash new customROM but before that I would really like to make a full nandroid backup of current one. I know there are many stock online but had some problem in the past and just for sure I wand this which is on my device now and is working lets say fine.
So i tried SDCARD method with putting recovery.img on root directory and start device with toothpick. So far nothing.
I tired around 15 different recoveri.img all over the net and nothing so far. All of them load H96 pro+ logo and that is it. I have LED in front to tell me whether device is working and during booting it lit a bit dimmer and in some recovery images after showing the logo start to shine a bit brighter. This is the only difference I have with all recoveries i tried. Tried to remove all USB devices from the box, only HDMI and power cord connected - same thing. I am using 4GB microSD formatted as FAT32. tried to find how to check is my bootloader locked but when I chose "reboot to bootloader" and device hangs on blank screen. Nothing happens. So cannot be sure of that. Device is rooted this is for certain.

So please help guys. Many thanks in advance!

p.s.
tried following images: 3.0.2.0, beelink 3.1.1.0, beeling GT1, q201-32, q201-64, q20x. and the list goes long.
