Mini M8S ii GPU running at low freq?

$

0
Hey guys,

So i've run in to a problem with the decoder speed on my M8S ii. The gpu clock seems to be heavily underclocked at 400 mhz, making it almost impossible to use for example Moonlight for game streaming.

Reading the specs it says it should be clocked to 700 mhz. Is there some way to push it up to a higher freq or is this indended?

Sorry in advance if i posted this in the wrong part of the forum.

Best regards.

T95Z Plus can"t put fusion in

I purchased a new T95Z plus 4 months ago, about 3 weeks ago I did a factory reset, it did reset and when it played the starting video then came to the screen with the boy holding the world in his hand, I thought it froze so I unpluged the power cable. About a week ago I did a fresh start after having a problem with the wizards, and tried to put fusion back in, when I went into fusion clicked on start here the only zip in there was plugin program.indigo 1.0.2zip but no hubwizard. I think it knocked something out after I pulled the power when I thought it froze. I hope someone might know what it know what it knocked out when I did that. Thank you very much.

Nowadays, many people are more and more relying on mobile phone camera for taking photos. While buying a new smartphone, except for the price and design, we are considering more about the performance and battery. Among performance, camera effect is a key point. Here we have compared the camera effect for 3 smart phones: Xiaomi Mi5 with 16MP rear camera; OUKITEL K6000 Plus with 16MP rear camera and iPhone 7 with 12MP rear camera.
Camera Specs
  Xiaomi Mi5 OUKITEL K6000 Plus iPhone 7
Sensor IMX298 OV16880 iSight
Pixels 16MP 16MP 12MP
Aperture F2.0 F2.0 F1.8
Focusing PDAF PDAF Focus pixels
Anti-shake 4-axis stabilization Normal anti-shake OIS
Both Xiaomi Mi5 and OUKITEL K6000 Plus gets 16MP camera with PDAF tech for rapid focus. PDAF tech has been quite mature in digital camera field, but in smartphone field, it just starts. With PDAF tech, it will finish focusing with just one calculation and reduce the calculate burden of the processor. The other specs are all different from each other. Xiaomi Mi5 carries IMX298 sensor with F2.0 aperture, iPhone 7 takes iSight sensor with F1.8 aperture, while K6000 Plus adopts OV16880 sensor with F2.0 aperture. All the 3 devices support anti-shake. Xiaomi Mi5 developed 4-anxis stabilization tech for anti-shake. OUKITEL K6000 Plus sports normal anti-shake.
No matter what the cameras have on specs, the effect is the most important. See video below to check the display camera effect on different scenes.

OUKITEL K6000 Plus is already officially online, see more details here: http://www.oukitel.com/products/k/k6000-plus-66.html

Hello All,

Geekbuying new arrival tv box Minix neo u9-h.

Here is the highlight:
Minix never capsizes in its vast array of product releases even though the company is constantly pushing the envelope of the extreme. This is also true for its latest Minix Neo U9-H variant. Instead of tucking away in our memories the rock solid build, Minix Neo U9-H comes with the same enclosure as its predecessors.

Minix Neo U9-H brings access to HDR Dolby Vision, VP9 and HDR10 (High Dynamic Range) with full resolution 4K Ultra HD @ 60 Hz. And its all about the Amlogic S912-H SoC, an cta-core ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit processor clocked at a maximum of 1.5GHz.

A step up from the previous models, this gadget runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but will be available for Android 7.0 Nougat update thanks to an SDK developed by Amlogic.

Packed with a 2GB DDR3 RAM along with 16GB of eMMC 5.0 flash storage, Neo U9-H extends plenty of internal storage space for apps and all their media contents.

All that aside, Minix is also working on the front of the DRM to double up content protection essential for certain streaming sevices, since those Android already supported are added(Google Widevine Level 1) probably also those of Microsoft - Microsoft Play Ready 3.0.

Whenever new features and functions are added, users can download them directly via our F.O.T.A(Firmware-Over-The-Air) update system.

How many different QBox hardware platforms are there?

$

A friend bought a QBox because he really liked mine. Mine runs the 'standard' wifi chip and has an S905 chip with 2/16 memory. I installed LibreElec and all is well.

His new machine will install LibreElec, and he states he's using the correct device tree and I have no reason to doubt him. Unfortunately, he has no wired or wireless access.

I saw a forum post somewhere about a 905X QBox as well as QBox with a new wifi chip. Has anyone used these 'new' versions with LibreElec, and if so, what device tree was used?

Thanks

Andrew

Linuxium Introduces Script To Update Any Ubuntu ISO Files To Linux Mainline RC Kernel...

From CNX...
"Devices based on Intel Bay Trail and Cherry Trail processors have been popular due to their integration into low cost system (for an Intel platform), but Intel did not prioritize Linux development for those processors, so while Linux could run, you’d have various problems with HDMI audio, system freezes, and wireless drivers, unless you used a custom kernel. The goods news is that Linux 4.11 will feature fixes for HDMI audio and system freeze, and so you won’t need a custom kernel anymore. Ian Morrison (Linuxium), who has been working on improving Linux for those devices since they were first released, has now released iorespin.sh script to automatically update any Ubuntu ISO image to the latest mainline Linux RC kernel built by Canonical, but not integrated by default in the ISO."

Linux 4.11 brings improvements for Intel Atom PCs (Bay Trail and Cherry Trail)

$
0
0
If you’ve tried installing Ubuntu or other GNU/Linux-based operating systems on a computer with an Intel Atom Bay Trail or Cherry Trail processor, there’s a decent chance you ran into problems with WiFi, audio, or other hardware.

But
Ian Morrison notes that the upcoming Linux 4.11 kernel fixes one of the last remaining issues: HDMI audio.

Since Ubuntu 17.10 and other operating systems set to launch later this year will probably use the new kernel, that means there’s a better chance that you’ll be able to use the official install images to get Ubuntu (or other Linux-based operating systems) up and running with minimal fuss. Until then, Morrison has a workaround.

Intel has pretty much given up on producing new Atom chips for low-power laptops, tablets, and notebooks. But if you’ve already got a Bay Trail or Cherry-Trail powered device that you’d like to use as a Linux PC rather than a Windows or Android machine, the latest kernel should be helpful.

Among
other things, it’ll let you let you plug your device into a TV using a single HDMI cable. Previously you would have either needed to apply a software patch or use a separate audio cable to deliver sound to a TV.

Morrison has
released a script that lets you build your own Ubuntu disc image by patching the official ISO with the latest Linux 4.11 kernel release candidate.

It’s not quite as simple as downloading a pre-built disc image, and the script only runs on a computer that’s running Linux. But it provides more flexibility than simply downloading one of Morrison’s existing disc images, since you can choose pretty much any version of Ubuntu (including newer and older releases and different flavors including Lubuntu and Xubuntu).

You can also find some additional scripts to get Ubuntu working with common WiFi and Bluetooth hardware used in Atom-powered systems
at Morrison’s website.
