Newbie question - Upgrade A912

Hello,

I would like to get Android TV on my current box which is an Beelink GT1 A912 - 6.0.1 - GT1_113M0

I read one topic that explain that I cannot update to Android 7.1

FIrst i would like to put stock Android and then install Android TV.

For sure, i cannot upgrade with OTA anymore.

When I try to upgrade with SD card with the pin method, the box freeze on the Beelink logo....

Is there a way or should i buy another box ?

Boot loader flash help needed

I have 2 OTT M8S XT-S812-V10 boxes driving me crazy. After spending literally 40 hours flashing images, I managed to get them running perfectly except for Ethernet, which I need for both.

I found an upgrade zip that fixes the Ethernet but won’t boot without the SD card in.

I figured that it was killling the boot loader so I tried to to replace the boot image with the one from the working rom that has no Ethernet but no luck.

Can anybody explain how I can extract and flash just the boot loader?

How to update Microcode/uCode of Atom or Apollo Lake SoC (x5-83x0/N3x50/J3455 etc)

Failing to flash BIOS on my VOYO V1 mini I found out that right now the only way to update Apollo Lake SoC microcode is through BIOS (similar with Braswell x5-Z83x0/x7-87x0). That is because Intel didn't include those processors microcodes inside Linux firmware (microcode.dat). What's more MS didn't updated their Intel microcodes library "mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll" since 2015 also.

On the Internet one can find instructions how to update microcode in desktop CPUs but those will be lacking data for our SoCs. At least I couldn't find any library for Intel processors with CPUID 506C9 (Apollo Lake - N3450/N4200/J3455/J4205) and 406C3 (Braswell - Atom x5-83x0/x7-87x0). That's why I opened this thread.

Generally following guides like this or that will get you nowhere because microcodes for SoC are absent. One must find newer microcode revision on their own. Or use these which I attached below.

What you need:
1. VMware cpu microcode driver.
2. Attached microcode.zip file (with newest 2C microcode for 506C9 CPU dated 2017-03-25)

If you suspect that I tampered with microcode you can read this article (Observation #7) about PKCS#1 v1.5 SHA256 based signature and then try to internally reprogram our CPUs .
Alternatively you can download some BIOS file for Apollo Lake board and extract microcode from there with MCExtractor. But then you will have to use tool like bin2hex.py to convert binary file to Hexadecimal text structure in big endian 32bit format link in microcode.dat file. It's a shame that VM microcode driver can't load Intel binary files (or it can but I do not now how to convince it to do so).

What to do with microcode.dat
1. Extract VMware microcode driver package.
2. Replace microcode.dat inside extracted folder with one from attached archive.
3. Run as administrator: Install.bat.

You can check if microcode was updated with tools like HWInfo32/64 (summary window) or with RWEverything inside CPU MSR register viewer.

As you can see, the MT6797 (Helio X20) offers the FDD-LTE frequency B20 (800mhz), in several models (Vernee Apollo Lite, Vernee Apollo X, HomTom HT10, Elephone S7, Doogee F7, etc.). Leeco S3 X626 not to make the FDD-LTE B20 / 800mhz frequency available, it will be a software / firmware, not hardware issue, unless you have a better opinion.
Does anyone know how to unblock this frequency?

Hello everybody I'm posting here in search of a solution to a problem that both Amazon and Abox cannot solve the crash of Amazon Prime Video app. According to Abox there should be no problem, while Amazon simply says they cannot guarantee it works. What's the problem and is there a solution? In case I send this particularly Android box back to seller is there a way to be sure another one will work despite maker/seller claims? Thanks in advance
